Why I love my CRT's

Why do I love to wear CRTs?

I love to wear CRTs because they cut the hassle out of me having to purchase contacts on a yearly basis, worrying about my prescription possibly changing each year, buying drops to keep on me or near me in case my contacts dry out during the night, or worrying about tearing or having to replace expensive contact lenses.

CRTs really do work and they have been around for a long time. They take a lot of hassles and expenses out of life and they are very convenient to use on a daily basis. I have always wanted to see without any corrections in my eyes and CRTs are able to make that finally happen. I have been in contact lens and glasses since the 4th grade so I have been wearing correction for most of my life.

Are they uncomfortable or do they hurt?

They are not the most comfortable to wear, but you get used to them fairly quickly. It is easier since I sleep in them at night and do not have to wear them during the day, so I hardly even notice them in my eyes when I am sleeping. Some days or nights I will actually put them in earlier (like a couple hours before I go to bed) or keep them in slightly longer after I wake up because they become unnoticeable after time. No, they are not painful at all.

Is it difficult to adjust to a set schedule of insertion and removal?

Not at all. I started wearing them and I wear them every single night since I started them. I put them in before I go to bed and take them out right when I wake up in the morning. It is a similar routine to wearing your contacts, but obviously putting them in at night and taking them out in the morning is the difference.

How long did it take you to wear them before you had to wear nothing?

It took me about 3-4 days. It can take up to 7 days for your eyes to completely adjust to them. I was a higher myopic patient so I did have to wear a small prescription of contacts for the first two days of wearing my CRTs before my eyes adjusted to seeing perfectly fine without any correction. You can see with the CRTs in your eyes though even while your eyes are adjusting to them. For example, if you need to get up in the middle of the night for any reasons, you can clearly see to walk with your CRTs in.
